Butter Cake Recipe

This is a basic butter cake recipe that can be used so many ways


Ingredients
2 cups (3 1/2) sticks butter, room temperature
2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 tsp almond extract
3 cups all purpose flour
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cups milk

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400. Spray cake pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until soft and fluffy. Add eggs, mixing well after each one added then mix in vanilla and almond extracts and milk.
  3. In another bowl mix flour, baking powder and salt.
  4. Add flour mix with butter mix and combine until completely blended.
  5. Pour in prepared pan and bake for 35-40 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Place cake pan on a cooling rack and cool.
